Justin Bieber has a one-in-five chance of being named Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards on Nov. 20.
Four weeks of voting has ended and the list of candidates has been narrowed down to Bieber, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande.
The 10 finalists included Bieber’s fellow Canadians Drake and The Weeknd.
As we already know, Bieber has five nominations going into Sunday’s show but Drake leads the way with a record-breaking 13.
Bieber won't be at the AMAs to pick up any hardware, though. His Purpose tour is in Italy that night.
We don’t know if Bieber will win Artist of the Year but we know for a fact a Canadian will take home the Male Artist award. Bieber’s up against Drake and The Weeknd.
This year’s AMAs will feature performances by Lady Gaga, Green Day, Fifth Harmony, Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots, Maroon 5 with Kendrick Lamar and The Chainsmokers with Halsey -- as well as Canada's Shawn Mendes.
Voting for Artist of the Year runs until Nov. 17. See the nominees in all categories here.
