Poor ticket sales have forced Justin Bieber to downsize eight shows on his upcoming Changes Tour.
Instead of playing stadiums, the Canadian pop star will stick to arenas. The plan means three dates on the tour have been moved.
Variety cited a source as saying the decision to downsize came after “soft” ticket sales for Bieber’s first tour since he cut short the Purpose World Tour in 2017 – sales that are not likely to get better as the fears of coronavirus grow. The new venues tweeted that the move was due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
The affected concerts are in Glendale, Houston, Dallas, Nashville, Columbus, Indianapolis, Washington and Detroit.
None of the downsized shows are in Canada. Bieber is scheduled to perform at arenas in Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto and Montreal between Sept. 1 and Sept. 14.
