Justin Bieber ended his five-week Twitter silence on Wednesday to urge Americans to vote in the upcoming mid-term elections.
“Living in the US I see how this country affects not only people here but all around the world,” the Canadian singer wrote to his 105 million followers. “There are so many things people need help with that I hope all of you who can get out and Vote and make your voices heard.”
He added: “I would if I could :)”

Bieber later tweeted: “Wishing everyone an amazing day.”
In a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone, Bieber said he had no interest in becoming a U.S. citizen, even though he has lived there since he was 13. “Canada’s the best country in the world,” he said.
But, as the spouse of a U.S. citizen – Hailey Baldwin – Bieber is eligible to apply for citizenship after three years. According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, one of the requirements is: “Be a person of good moral character.”
