A U.S. judge has dismissed a $10 million copyright suit against Justin Bieber and Usher over their 2010 track "Somebody To Love."
In 2013, singer Devin "De Rico" Copeland and writer Mareio Overton accused the stars of intellectual property theft, alleging they had stolen parts of one of their tracks. The duo said they had given their original recording to Usher's mother -- his former manager -- in 2009.
The dismissal of the suit by U.S. District Judge Arenda Wright Allen said Copeland and Overton were not able to prove Bieber and Usher were ever in possession of the original track. She dismissed the case without the opportunity for further appeals.
Allen first dismissed the lawsuit in 2014, but a federal appeals court ruled that a jury could find the two recordings "intrinsically similar."
