Justin Bieber was voted Male Artist of 2020 at the E! People's Choice Awards, which were announced Sunday night during a show hosted by Demi Lovato.
It was the second PCA win for the Canadian singer, whose “What Do You Mean?” was chosen Favourite Song in 2016. Bieber, with seven nominations this year, performed his hits "Lonely" and "Holy" on the show.
Not surprisingly, BTS was voted Group and Album of 2020 and their hit "Dynamite" won Song and Music Video. Ariana Grande won PCAs for Female Artist and Social Celebrity of 2020.
In the music categories, there were also wins for Taylor Swift, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, and Becky G – and singer Mandy Moore was chosen The Drama TV Star of the 2020 for her role on This Is Us.
Jennifer Lopez was honoured as The People’s Icon by stars like Armie Hammer, Renée Zellweger and Nicole Kidman.
“Your belief and your faith in me motivates me to keep going,” Lopez told fans. “Sometimes when I'm tired or beaten down like a lot of us have been this year, it's my family, my friends, my babies and my fans – you guys – who have lifted me up when I couldn't lift myself.”
Lovato was all of us when she joked: "Honestly, this year has been the longest three years of my life." She shared a list of highlights that included "got engaged" and "got unengaged" – a reference to her split from Max Ehrich.
While accepting the award for Country Artist of 2020, Blake Shelton made his own engagement joke. "Thank you to my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani. That's S-t-e-f-a-n-i, if you need to Google it to figure out who she is."
