Canadians music stars came up empty at Wednesday night’s People’s Choice Awards.
Drake, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd were beaten by Justin Timberlake in the Favourite Male Artist category.
Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” won Favourite Song.
“I love all the people who voted for this song, who downloaded this song,” said Timberlake.
Niall Horan was named winner of Favourite Breakout Artist, beating Canada's Alessia Cara, among others.
Britney Spears won Favourite Female Singer and Pop Artist while Rihanna won Favourite R&B Artist (beating Drake and The Weeknd).
Blake Shelton — who was also up for Male Artist — was named winner of Favourite Male Country Artist and Favourite Album (for If I’m Honest) after performing on the show.
The Favourite Group award went to Fifth Harmony, who also performed.
Carrie Underwood was named Favourite Female Country Artist and Little Big Town won Country Group.
G-Eazy was named Favourite Hip-Hop Artist.
Jennifer Lopez was the night’s first winner, picking up a People’s Choice Award for Favourite TV Crime Drama Actress.
