If you ask Justin Timberlake, neither Beyoncé's Lemonade and Adele's 25 deserved the Album of the Year title at the 59th Grammy Awards. Apparently, that accolade belonged to Frank Ocean's blonde.
Timberlake spoke his piece via Twitter on Wednesday night (March 8) when a frustrated fan told JT that he was "getting tired of letting the 20/20 Experience play." While the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Award winner promised new tunes in the coming future, he also decided to chime in on February's Bey vs. Adele debacle. See the tweets below!
"While I'm at it…” he wrote in one message. "Frank Ocean had the REAL Album Of The Year with BLONDE.#NotFakeNews."
In early February, JT told The Hollywood Reporter that the follow-up to 2013's The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 will be inspired by his Tennessee stomping grounds and serve as a project that grabs the most inspiration from his upbringing. "It sounds more like where I’ve come from than any other music I've ever made," he told the outlet. "It's Memphis. It’s Southern American music. But I want to make it sound modern — at least that’s the idea right now."
JT is collaborating with longtime friends/creatives like Pharrell, Timbaland and Max Martin on the LP, which has been in the works for months. In fact, it's something that is definitely keeping his muse at work. He was even in the studio "caught up in a creative tornado" until three in the morning the other night.
