Kanye West went on another Twitter spree on Wednesday – describing himself as a modern-day Henry Ford, Howard Hughes, Steve Jobs and Walt Disney – amidst reports that those close to him are worried about his mental health.
West also said he is a “future [U.S.] president.”
In a flurry of tweets, the 40-year-old rap star and entrepreneur boasted that he is “the single highest paid person in footwear” and that sales of his shoes rival the iPhone.
West said he’s the boss of the “2nd fastest growing company in history” that needs to fill 160 positions by the end of the year.
Yeezy, he claimed, is “a unicorn on its way to becoming a decacorn.”
West added: “Yeezy will become the biggest apparel company in human history by working with the most genius level talents and creating product at an affordable price,” he tweeted. “I hired the head of supply chain from the Gap.”
West also used Twitter to respond to multiple reports this week about his well-being.
At TMZ, sources claim West “seems a little erratic.” The website reported “people who have been interacting with him say he’s hitting the guardrails.”
(West responded on Twitter: “Please never use the word erratic to describe a person who is economically and psychologically empowered.”)
People this week claimed the rap star’s “private behaviour” has been “cause for concern,” according to “many people” close to him.
“Everyone is super, super worried,” a source told the magazine. “He just looks at you with a void. It’s like he’s mute and can’t talk and he just stares at you. The way he says things with such affirmation, he genuinely believes he’s God and a genius and that he can do everything on his own.”
(West countered: “Watch how you speak my name. You would love a pair of Yeezys. Don’t play yourself.”)

The rapper definitely seems to be heading into a new phase of his career. He has parted ways with co-managers Izvor "Izzy" Zivkovic and Scott “Scooter” Braun (“I can’t be managed,” he tweeted. “I’m nobody’s ‘client’”) and has replaced his lawyers.
Billboard quoted a source saying West has decided to “leave the traditional music business” although he still has contracts with Def Jam and Sony/ATV.
Last week, West announced he will release a new album on June 1 followed by a collaboration with Kid Cudi on June 8.
West cancelled 21 shows on his Saint Pablo tour in 2016 and cited "exhaustion" as the reason for being hospitalized. But, according to Hot 97 host Ebro Darden, the rapper told him he was in hospital because he was "addicted to opioids."
According to Page Six, "there are new fears for his health" and "he could be suffering from 'another episode.'"
People quoted a friend of West saying: “The truth is that people are right to be worried. He’s not acting well, and he seems to be on the edge. I hope and pray he can get it together.”
In one of his many tweets on Wednesday, West said: “I'm not scared anymore. I'm not scared of the media. I'm not scared of the past and I'm optimistic about the future.”
