Kanye West has partnered with Gap to launch a new clothing line.
The rap star and the retailer announced Friday the Yeezy Gap collection will be available in stores and online beginning in the first half of 2021. It promises “modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at accessible price points.”
According to The New York Times, Gap has entered into a 10-year deal with West’s fashion company Yeezy. The 43-year-old already has a partnership with Adidas for Yeezy footwear.
“YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP,” West tweeted on Friday along with the hashtag “WESTDAYEVER.”

It’s a full-circle moment for West, who worked at a Gap store in Chicago as a teenager.
“I don't think I had any desire to actually make clothes, but I always felt like that's what I wanted to be around,” he wrote in an essay for Paper in 2015. “I loved the fabrics, I loved the colours, I loved the proportions. Abercrombie [& Fitch] was too expensive for me and the Gap was too expensive for me. Even though I worked at the Gap, I didn't get enough hours to get a discount because I was a part-time employee, because I went to high school.”
He also spoke about the retailer in a 2015 Vanity Fair interview. “I say things like I want to be creative director for the Gap, but I just got to give credit to the people who do creative direction at the Gap,” West explained.
“I picture the Gap in some way different than I think the rest of people picture it.”
