Everyone can remember the night of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye West announced his 2020 presidential run. Now that Donald Trump has become the US president-elect, the rapper has elaborated more on his political statement.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, Ye said that he's all for helping people, even though he has no experience in politics...like someone else we know.
“When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views. I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth,” West said.
He continued that he's ready to help people with his future political aspirations. West declared: “If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive, I’m going to try to do it."
After Trump won the 2016 presidential election, fans across social media began pleading with West to run. The hashtag #Kanye2020 quickly went viral.
