You could say Kansas City Chiefs star Harrison Butker has taken a kicking since he made his very controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College last month. (Pun fully intended.)
Butker addressed Benedictine's new graduates by spewing misogynistic, homophobic and anti-choice hot takes that immediately found him in some hot water with everyone from Swifties to the social media accounts of the city of Kansas.
He's also been publicly humiliated by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, and now it appears Katy Perry wants to have a go.
To make this world a better place, Perry has posted a video on her Instagram in which she fixes Butker's speech by editing his words to now celebrate Pride and encourage women to pursue their dreams.
“Fixed this for my girls, my graduates, and my gays – you can do anything, congratulations and happy pride,” Perry captioned the post.
Instead of reducing women's role to becoming a "homemaker," Perry has manipulated the professional football kicker to utter, “I would venture to guess the women here today are going to lead successful careers in the world.”
The video also now has Butker signing off with a message of hope as Pride Month kicks off.
“The road ahead is bright, things are changing, society is shifting and people young and old are embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion," Butker adds. "With that said, I want to say happy Pride Month to all of you. And congratulations Class of 2024.”
