After the unveil of the Hot Chip remix, Katy Perry's "Chained to the Rhythm" sees another facelift, courtesy of Lil Yachty.
For the four-minute BoatRemix, which dropped on Tuesday night (Mar. 21), Perry's original vocals remain intact, but listeners are treated to a brand-new beat as well as bars from the 19-year-old ATL rapper. "Chained to the beat now/Feelin' good, got good vibes/I can feel it in my feet now/Take a shot, baby, loosen up/You the star of the scene now/I went from readin' magazines to being on the cover/Get up in the groove now/Let me see you move now," the rapper spits during the first of two verses on the track.
"Chained to the Rhythm" is the pop star's lead single from her upcoming fifth studio effort, which doesn not have a title nor a release date. However, back in February, the singer admitted that the LP will be released in bits and pieces, so we'll have to just remain patient.
"I've got something swirling, but I think I want to put out some songs first before I give them the full meal. I think we are digesting things in bite size these days and that’s what we can handle," she told Capital FM. "It's not shade or anything at all like that… but when someone has a 17 or 19 track album and you’re like, ‘I have to take a trip to Mars to listen to your record in full!’ I mean I love you, you’re my favorite dope artist, but like we want bite size."
