Katy Perry will honour Minnie Mouse for 90 years of being a celebrated cartoon icon by presenting her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Since her debut in Disney’s 1928 Steamboat Willie cartoon, Minnie Mouse has become one of the most beloved and recognizable animated figures alongside her longtime love Mickey Mouse.
“Minnie Mouse is a woman of the ages and her iconic status makes her a great addition to our Walk of Fame!” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremony, in a statement. “Generations of fans of all ages have been looking forward to her seeing her bright new star.”
Other fictional Disney characters who have received the coveted sidewalk honour include Snow White, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Tinker Bell, Kermit the Frog, and Mickey Mouse who got his star on his 50th anniversary back in 1978.
Disney fanatic Perry tweeted out her excitement about taking part in the ceremony, calling it a "childhood and grown adult dream come true.”
