k.d. lang will reunite with her old band The Reclines for a special performance at the 2024 CCMA Awards.
The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announced that k.d. lang and The Reclines will officially reunite and perform together for the first time in 35 years when it hosts its Awards show in Edmonton on September 14.
The performance will coincide with lang being inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.
The Reclines first formed in 1983 as a Patsy Cline tribute band featuring lang, Stu Macdougal (keyboards), Dave Bjarnson (drums), Gary Koligar (guitar) and Farley Scott (bass). The band released three albums together before lang decided to go solo in 1989.
In a statement, lang said, “Reuniting with The Reclines after 35 years in Edmonton for the CCMA Awards feels like a full-circle moment. The bond we shared, both musically and personally, remains as strong as ever, and revisiting a song that shaped our journey together is incredibly special. I’m thrilled to bring this experience to life on such a celebrated stage and share it with fans, both old and new.”
The 2024 CCMA Awards happen at Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB on September 14. Hosts Thomas Rhett and MacKenzie Porter will also perform alongside Dasha, Jade Eagleson, Brett Kissel, Madeline Merlo, The Reklaws, Owen Riegling, Josh Ross with Julia Michaels, Dallas Smith, Tenille Townes, and Jake Worthington.
