Kehlani knows how to bounce back, and the R&B starlet did just that on Tuesday (May 9) after canceling her show the day prior in Grand Rapids, Michigan due to an illness.
Earlier this week, the budding singer made headlines when she broke down in tears during her Grand Rapids show, admitting to her fans mid-concert that she needed to cancel the set because she felt crazy and was considering going to the hospital.
"I truly feel like I might have to go to the hospital at this point because I feel crazy. I'm so sorry, but I came up here and I promised my team that I would try," the 22-year-old tearfully explained. "If you need to be refunded, I’ll take it out of my pocket and reschedule. I put that on everything. We'll make this show happen again, but I need to go do something about this because I feel crazy."
Later on, the SWEETSEXYSAVAGE singer took to Instagram to slam reports that she had a "mental breakdown" during the set and clarified that she was just physically exhausted due to the non-stop pressures of her touring lifestyle. "Please be aware what you spread in regards to mental health; that can be really detrimental," she said in an IG video, which has since been deleted from her account. "I love you guys! Speak only what you know."
However, just as she promised, Kehlani charged back up and returned to the road ahead of her sold-out Wednesday night show in Detroit. As for that Grand Rapids set, Kehlani has plans to make it up to folks. "back on the road tomorrow after I beat this gaaahdamn fluuuuu!!! F**kin love y'all!!" she wrote in another Instagram post. "Grand Rapids show being rescheduled to top of next month, if you was there last night you know the real, f**k all that noise."
