Kehlani has been accused of causing extensive damage to a luxury sports car she drove in a music video.
According to a lawsuit obtained by The Blast, the 25-year-old R&B singer rented a black Ferrari in April through a third-party company for “personal use.” Instead, the vehicle was used in the video for “Open (Passionate) (Quarantine Style).”
The rental company alleges Kehlani “negligently, recklessly, carelessly operated the Ferrari as to collide with an animal and/or unknown object and thereby causing significant material damage.”
The lawsuit seeks $24,426.12 (all figures U.S.) in damage, plus nearly $35,000 more in lost revenues while it was out of commission for repairs. The value of the 2017 Ferrari was diminished by $88,573.
The rental company has also asked a judge to suspend Kehlani’s driver’s license until there is a judgment.
None of the claims have been proven in court. Kehlani has not commented on the lawsuit.
