Kelly Clarkson has split from Brandon Blackstock, her husband of nearly seven years.
The 38-year-old singer filed for divorce in Los Angeles on June 4 citing irreconcilable differences, according to reports. She is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their daughter River, 5, and son Remington, 4.
Clarkson’s filing indicates the couple signed a prenuptial agreement a week before tying the knot so she is not expected to have to pay spousal support to Blackstock.
It was Clarkson’s first marriage and Blackstock’s second. He has two teenaged children with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth.
The former stepson of country star Reba McEntire, Blackstock, 43, is Clarkson’s manager and also represents Blake Shelton.
In April, Clarkson said she and Blackstock were self-isolating at a bed-and-breakfast they recently purchased in Montana.
