One country newbie is hoping she’ll breakout with the help of a couple of country superstars.
Ashliegh Lisset, an independent artist from Dallas, Texas, has dropped a new single called “Goodbye,” which was co-written by Kelsea and Jennifer Denmark and Matthew Alderman.
The song is reminiscent of sounds from Kelsea’s debut album The First Time and tells the story of an easy breakup.
“Maybe it was never love/Baby, even if it was/You think that it would hurt enough to cry/I never thought I’d watch you leaving/I wonder why it felt so easy/Baby, maybe that’s the reason why/It was a good bye,” Ashleigh sings in the chorus.
But Kelsea is the only songwriter who’s penned songs the newcomer has cut.
Ashleigh's first single, “Kill the Headlights” was written by Nashville heavy weights Hillary Lindsey, Luke Laird and Carrie Underwood, whom she calls her inspiration.
Ashliegh has opened for Jerrod Niemann but is currently without a record label home.
