Two female country music stars shared news over the Christmas holiday that they are engaged (not to each other) and another revealed she's expecting a baby.
Referencing her song "Dibs," Kelsea Ballerini used "#HECALLEDDIBS" in announcing on social media that she got engaged to her Australian boyfriend, Morgan Evans.
"This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him," Ballerini explained in an Instagram message on Christmas Day.
"Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life. And now I get to do it for life."
The 23-year-old singer also showed off the diamond sparkler on her finger. "I GET TO MARRY MY AUSSIE," she tweeted. "My heart is bursting from loving this human so much. luckiest girl in the world."
Evans, 31, also took to Instagram with the happy news. "When you know, you know," he wrote. "She's perfect. #ultimatedibs."
Also accepting a proposal over the holidays was Kacey Musgraves.
"I didn't say yes ... I said HELL YESSSS!!," she exclaimed on Instagram, where she shared a pic of the ring from musician boyfriend Ruston Kelly.
"Last night, the best man I've ever met got down on one knee in my little pink childhood home..in the same room I played with my ponies and barbies and asked me the easiest question I've ever been asked," wrote Musgraves.
"I finally know what everyone means when they say 'you just know.'"
On Twitter, Musgraves told fans: "I'M ENGAGED, Y'ALL! To the most uplifting, thoughtful, amazing human. My best friend. He asked in my childhood room.
"It was so sentimental and sweet and simple and perfect. I sobbed."
For his part, Kelly tweeted: "I ASKED AND SHE SAID YES. Luckiest and happiest man in the universe today. I love you, @KaceyMusgraves. For all time."
On Instagram he added: “I have never met a more incredible partner and woman. Last night I became the luckiest, proudest and happiest man ever. I asked the brightest light in my life to marry me."
Meanwhile, Ashley Monroe announced that she and husband John Danks (the pro baseball player) are expecting.
The 30-year-old singer posted a sonogram image on Instagram. "Best present ever. Merry Christmas everyone.. so many new things coming in 2017!!"
Monroe and Danks, 31, were married in 2013 in a ceremony officiated by country superstar Blake Shelton.
