Fans were quick to notice a subtle clue Kendrick Lamar included in the music video for "Love" he dropped on Saturday. In a quick moment during the video, it appears that the rapper is telling the world that he's going to be involved in the upcoming Black Panther soundtrack.
At the 1:54 mark in the video, a video clapperboard appears that reads "B. Panther Soundtrack Coming Soon.”
Needless to say, fans were freaking out, immediately taking to Twitter to discuss their excitement and whether this dream could really become a reality.
It's not too surprising that Black Panther director Ryan Coogler has tapped Lamar to contribute to the highly anticipated movie's soundtrack. The director opened up about being a huge fan of the rapper last year at San Diego Comic Con, according to MTV, praising his lyrics. "It's actually oddly literal for our trailer's purposes, and I think a lot of the cultural things we're dealing with in Wakanda are in the zeitgeist in the African American community.”
Black Panther hits theatres Feb. 16.
