Kendrick Lamar has teamed up with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to make a a new live-action comedy from Paramount Pictures set for release next year.
PGLang, the music and visual media production company founded by Lamar and Dave Free, will produce the project with Parker and Stone. Vernon Chatman, a regular contributor to South Park and creator of MTV's Wonder Showzen will pen the script.
Paramount CEO Brian Robbins announced the film at CinemaCon, saying, “This script is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read and it’s certain to create some fireworks.”
The live-action comedy is said to “depict the past and present coming to a head when a young Black man, who is interning as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum, discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his.”
The untitled film is scheduled for release on July 4, 2025.
