Kenny Chesney will be recognized at the 50th Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 2 with the Pinnacle Award.
The honour goes to an artist who has achieved popularity around the world through their music and concerts.
"When you do what you do, you never think it’s a big deal. But when an organization like CMA recognizes you in this fashion, it makes you step back," Chesney said in a statement. "To receive this award -- especially during their 50th Anniversary is such an honour, because they’re recognizing half a century of country music.”
The only other artists who have received the honour are Garth Brooks in 2005 and Taylor Swift in 2013.
The 50th Annual CMA Awards will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.
