Kesha is celebrating having her "voice" back.
After finally parting ways with her label, Kemosabe, as well as management back in December, the 37-year-old singer has spoken out about the next phase of her career.
In a post to X, she wrote, "First day I’ve owned my voice in 19 years. Welcome."
She followed that up with a new photo, and a visual teaser for a new song that breathes a real ambient, liberating vibe, as she sings, “I’ve been waiting for you/Everything’s changed now” while stripping off her clothes and cleansing herself in a river.
The video is captioned with a link to keshaiswaitingforyou.com, a new website featuring a nude image of Kesha from behind that some people are speculating as her next album cover.
She also posted on Instagram live, sharing an emotional clip of her smiling and crying to a new, uplifting song of hers, which you can see here.
Kesha was in a years-long court battle after accusing producer Dr. Luke (real name Łukasz Gottwald) of sexual and emotional abuse, claiming he had drugged and raped her back in 2005. Gottwald denied the accusations and countersued, arguing that Kesha had made up the allegations to get out of her record deal.
