Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville was issued a citation Saturday for not complying with a public health order aiming to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Photos of a large crowd of people – most not wearing masks – appeared on social media, prompting a visit from a Metro Public Health Department official.
“Kid Rock’s has been cited for serving people that were seated at the bar and for not observing proper social distancing inside the establishment,” read a release from the department, which added that director Dr. Michael Caldwell “and other health officials have had previous meetings with the management of Kid Rock’s to provide guidance on what is and is not allowed by the establishment to protect against the potential spread of the COVID-19.”
The amount of the fine will be determined in court.
My friend had a gig on lower broadway tonight. Congratulations Nashville, you beat the virus!

Kid Rock’s has remained open during the pandemic. “Unless there’s a statewide mandate that directs all bars and restaurant to be closed, the request made by Mayor Cooper is unconstitutional as he is targeting a select group of businesses,” co-owner Steve Smith said, in a statement in March.
On April 7, Kid Rock tweeted a photo of himself wearing a mask. “Stay home. Stay safe,” he wrote. “And if you must go out, wear a mask.”
