Kiefer Sutherland has scrapped three shows after sustaining an injury while on tour in Europe.
“Sadly I slipped on the steps of the bus whilst traveling to Denmark and seriously injured a rib, making it difficult to breathe and impossible to sing,” the 52-year-old Toronto-raised star tweeted. “Regretfully, I will not be able to perform the last 3 shows of our tour, but have every intension (sic) of making up these shows … in September / October when we return."
The shows were scheduled for Grenå, Denmark on Aug. 15, Gothenburg, Sweden on Aug. 16 and Esbjerg, Denmark on Aug. 17. Sutherland has also pulled out of an Aug. 24 charity show in the Montreal suburb of Pierrefonds.
“I am so sorry for any inconvenience that I have caused to the fans who have bought tickets. I will do everything I can to make it up to you. Thank you for your understanding.”
Sutherland has been on tour in Europe since July 21 and is scheduled to resume the tour with an Oct. 3 show in Hamburg.
Sutherland's sophomore studio album, Reckless & Me, was released in April. His Toronto-shot series Designated Survivor was cancelled in July after three seasons.
