Kiefer Sutherland returned to his birthplace this past weekend to perform at the Glastonbury music festival.
The actor-singer, who was born in London but raised in Toronto, called the gig one of “the greatest honours of my life.”
Sutherland told NME: “This is one of the great festivals of the world, so to have been asked to play here is a little frightening. It’s an afternoon that I won’t forget.”
Speaking to the BBC at the festival, Sutherland acknowledged the stigma of actors who do music. "I finally got to a place where I liked my songs enough," he said, "and I'm at a place in my life that if someone's going to say something not nice about it, go ahead, I don't care."
Sutherland has spent the summer in the U.S. and overseas performing tracks from his debut album Down in a Hole, which came out last August. He’s set to take the stage in Glasgow on Tuesday night.
The star of the Toronto-shot series Designated Survivor will bring his country act to the Boots & Hearts Festival in Ontario on Aug. 11 and to Toronto’s CNE on Aug. 20.
