Country star Kimberly Perry has filed for divorce from former Toronto Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia.
The Band Perry singer cited irreconcilable differences in documents filed in Greeneville, Tennessee last week.
The couple were married in June 2014.
“Yes it’s true, my marriage has come to an end,” Perry, 34, shared on Instagram late Sunday.
“I know that beauty will come from these ashes and, as always, I want to thank you all for your love and support. I’ll be in touch soon.”
Also on Sunday, Arencibia shared an image with Bob Marley lyrics: "Don't worry about a thing / 'Cause every little thing is gonna be alright." He captioned it: "All good. Half full kind of mentality."
Perry and Arencibia – who played for the Blue Jays from 2010 to 2013 – tied the knot after about two years of dating. It was the first marriage for both and they did not have children.
