Kings Of Leon have announced they will be releasing their ninth album, Can We Please Have Fun, on May 10.
Now signed to Geffen Records, the band is said to be showing a new side with this album that "harkens back to their gritty origins while simultaneously finding new gears. It’s the sound of a band unified in vision and purpose, freed from any expectations, and the album the band says they’ve always wanted to make," reads the press release.
About the album, frontman Caleb Followill says, "It was the most enjoyable record I’ve ever been a part of. With drummer Nathan Followill adding, "It’s like we allowed ourselves to be musically vulnerable. I love it when a rock band is not embarrassed to admit that every song doesn’t have to be on 11."
Today (February 22) the band released the video for the album's first single "Mustang," which you can see below.
The band have also unveiled a North American tour that features six Canadian dates:
8/31 - Rogers Arena, Vancouver BC
9/2 - Rogers Place, Edmonton AB
9/3 - Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary B
9/5 - Canada Life Centre, Winnipeg MB
10/1 - Budweiser Stage, Toronto
10/3 - Place Bell, Laval QC
