Lady Gaga announced Tuesday she has signed on for a residency in Las Vegas.
“It has been a lifelong dream of mine to play Las Vegas,” the pop star said in a statement. “I’ll leave my heart on the stage every single night.”
On Twitter, Gaga told fans she will perform an all-new show at the Park Theater. “I’m so overjoyed!”
The first run of dates has not yet been announced but Gaga’s residency is set to begin at the end of 2018.
Variety reported that the deal is worth $100 million (all figures U.S.) to Gaga but the Las Vegas Review-Journal quoted a source as saying that number is “way, way, way, off.” It reported that Gaga will, in fact, make about $400,000 per show.
Park Theater, in the Park MGM casino resort that was formerly known as the Monte Carlo, is a 5,300-seat venue that previously hosted Ricky Martin’s residency. Bruno Mars and Cher have shows there early next year.
Other stars with Vegas residences include Britney Spears, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, and Canada’s Celine Dion.
