Lady Gaga on Tuesday became an Oscar-nominated actress.
The pop star earned a Best Actress nod for her role in A Star Is Born.
It’s her first Academy Award nomination for acting but not her first overall. Gaga’s “’Til It Happens To You” from The Hunting Ground was up for Best Original Song in 2016.
This year, Gaga’s “Shallow” from A Star Is Born is nominated for Best Original Song. Co-written with Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt, the duet with co-star Bradley Cooper has already won a Golden Globe Award. It’s also up for a Grammy Award on Feb. 10.
“Shallow” is nominated for an Oscar against “All the Stars,” performed by Kendrick Lamar and SZA for Black Panther; “I’ll Fight,” performed by Jennifer Hudson for RGB; “The Place Where Lost Things Go,” performed by Emily Blunt for Mary Poppins Returns; and “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings,” performed by Tim Blake Nelson and Willie Watson for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
The award goes to the songwriter(s).
Best Original Score nominations went to Black Panther (Ludwig Goransson), BlacKkKlansman (Terence Blanchard), If Beale Street Could Talk (Nicholas Britell), Isle of Dogs (Alexandre Desplat), and Mary Poppins Returns (Marc Shaiman).
The Academy Awards will be broadcast live on Feb. 24 on CTV.
