Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance and performed at the One America Appeal benefit in College Station, Texas on Saturday for all five living former U.S. presidents.
The live broadcast event was organized to aid victims of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, and successfully raised over $31 million (U.S.).
Donald Trump was not in attendance, but did deliver a video message. “To Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Melania and I want to express our deep gratitude for your tremendous assistance. This wonderful effort reminds us that we truly are one nation under God, all unified by our values and our devotion to one another.”
Upon taking the stage and looking down at the five former leaders, Gaga remarked "Now that's what I call an audience.”
"The most special thing of all is how pain is such an equalizer and in a time of catastrophe we all put our differences aside and we come together,” she said. "Because we need each other, or we can't survive.”
The pop star performed a few of her hits, including “Million Reasons,” “You And I” and “The Edge Of Glory” and also revealed that she had personally donated $1 million in aid to the hurricane relief.
