The Valentino Haute Couture gown Lady Gaga wore while accepting a Golden Globe for Best Original Song (“Shallow”) has gone up for auction.
The periwinkle dress, custom made for the pop superstar, has a minimum bid of $8,000 U.S. at Nate D. Sanders Auctions.
The gown comes with a handwritten letter from longtime Beverly Hilton housekeeper Sara Corea, who claims Gaga “left” the dress in her suite. Corea turned it into the hotel’s lost and found, where it sat unclaimed for eight months before being handed over to her.
A spokesperson for the Beverly Hilton told Page Six Style that although the dress was not stolen, it was not meant to be put up for sale. The hotel has launched an internal investigation and is working to get the gown back and “have it returned to its rightful owner as soon as possible.”
