It really pays to play the Super Bowl.
Lady Gaga’s greatest-hits performance during the halftime show on Sunday caused sales of her music to explode.
According to Nielsen Music, Gaga sold 150,000 digital albums and songs in the U.S. alone on Sunday — and increase of about 1,000 per cent from the previous day.
Gaga’s latest hit “Million Reasons,” which she sang at the Super Bowl, sold 45,000 downloads on Sunday — up from about 5,000 the day before. That’s more sales in one day than the song had in its best week since its release last October!

Sales of “Born This Way” shot up over 2,200 per cent on Super Bowl Sunday and there were huge gains for “Bad Romance” (up 1,525 per cent) and “Poker Face” (up 1,200 per cent).
Gaga’s albums Joanne and The Fame Monster got big sales boosts after her halftime performance.
On iTunes in Canada, six Gaga tracks jumped into the Top 20, with “Million Reasons” taking the top spot.
