Lady Gaga performed 'The Lady Is A Tramp' and 'La Vie En Rose' for Tony Bennett Celebrates 90, which aired on Tuesday.
Bennett marked his 90th birthday with a huge party in August, followed in September by a star-studded concert that was taped for the two-hour NBC special, “Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet to Come.” The event was hosted at Radio City Music Hall by Alec Baldwin, who amusingly impersonated the crooner. Some of the biggest names in music were on hand to honor the legend, including Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Andrea Bocelli and, of course, Gaga.
She and Bennett became fast friends upon meeting several years ago, and that friendship blossomed into an unexpected musical partnership. A 2011 collaboration on his Duets II album in 2011 gave way to their 2014 joint album, Cheek To Cheek. The record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
The two later embarked on the Cheek To Cheek Tour, which had them playing 36 shows across North America and Europe. At the 2015 Grammys, where they performed the title track together, Cheek To Cheek won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. That same year, they jointly appeared in a Barnes & Noble commercial.
Bennett recently said he’d like to make another album with Gaga, as well as work with Beyonce. The two superstars, of course, had their own hit with 'Telephone' in 2010. Check out videos of Gaga’s performance on the “Tony Bennett Celebrates 90” special below!
