Pop singer Lauv is joining the growing list of music artists who are using live streaming to stay connected with their fans while they are in isolation to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The 25-year-old “I Like Me Better” singer, whose real name is Ari Leff, is adding a charitable element to his broadcast on Friday morning.
“It’s gonna be open to donations and i’ll be matching every dollar,” Lauv explained on social media, “all going to local food banks and direct relief, which is working with public health organizations across the globe.”

Lauv promised fans he will be “singing songs, cooking breakfast and vibing” beginning at 9 am PST on March 20. He said it’s important to support people “who work hourly and who may have trouble finding their next meal.”
Artists like Niall Horan, John Legend, Jann Arden, Scott Helman and Chris Martin have also done live streams in recent days.
