Leonard Cohen’s final book of poetry will be published nearly two years after this death.
The Flame, a collection the Canadian artist reportedly finished just months before his death, is scheduled to be released next October.
In addition to poems, the book will feature illustrations and the lyrics of his last three albums.
Cohen, a native of Montreal, died in November 2016 at 82.
According to Robert Kory, trustee of his estate, The Flame looks at “the flame and how our culture threatened its extinction.”
Cohen’s first book of poems was published in 1956 — more than a decade before his debut album.
Sting, Lana Del Rey, Elvis Costello, k.d. lang and others will take part in Tower of Song: A Memorial Tribute to Leonard Cohen at Montreal’s Bell Centre on Nov. 6.
