LFO singer Devin Lima, who was diagnosed with stage four adrenal cancer in 2017, died Wednesday. He was 41.
LFO's Brad Fischetti shared a heartfelt message on YouTube. “Harold ‘Devin’ Lima passed away early this morning after a valiant battle with cancer,” he said. “He will be greatly missed by many.
“For me, he was a brother. To his six kids, he was a father; to their mother, a wonderful partner. He was a son, a brother, a friend and beloved by so many.”
Fischetti remembered Lima as “an extraordinary talent and a beautiful man.”
He added: “I will miss him and I will honour him.”
The group was planning a tour this year when Lima received the bad news. Doctors removed a tumor from his adrenal gland and Lima underwent chemotherapy and radiation.
LFO member Rich Cronin died from leukaemia in 2010.
The trio (which includewd Brad Fischetti) released its self-titled debut album in 1999 and had hits like "Summer Girls," but parted ways in 2002. They announced a comeback in 2009 but then scrapped plans for a tour upon Cronin's death.
In 2017, Lima and Fischetti said they would carry on as a duo.
