Long before his many other beefs, Donald Trump once got into it with One Direction and proceeded to kick the pop chart-toppers out of his hotel when he didn't have it his way, as per former bandmate Liam Payne.
Speaking with Rollacoaster magazine, the singer recalled the incident, which was basically about meeting one of Trump's daughter. "He phoned up our manager and we were asleep. He said, 'Well, wake them up,' and I was like 'no', and then he wouldn't let us use the underground garage," the 23-year-old explained to the UK outlet.
Needless to say, the incident caused trouble for the band's means of travel. "Obviously in New York, we can't really go outside. New York is ruthless for us. So he was like, 'Okay, then I don’t want you in my hotel.' So we had to leave," he added.
Elsewhere in the interview, Liam also shared some insight about his friend Justin Bieber, admitting that he was the one to initially reach out to the pop titan and offer up a friendship.
"I said, 'Look, the difference between me and you is I had four different boys going through the same thing to look to,'" he recalled. "He didn’t have that. I said to him, 'Take my number and anytime you want a chat, let me know as I'm here and I understand exactly what you’re going through and I understand your world.' He needs somebody like that and in that position."
