Despite numerous posthumous releases featuring late frontman Chester Binnington, Linkin Park were no longer considered an active band following Binnington's 2017 death. However, one of the nu-metal giants' former tourmates has leaked that he believes they will return with a new, female singer.
Appearing on the Wired In The Empire podcast, Orgy frontman Jay Gordon revealed that he's heard Linkin Park is set to make a comeback after finding a new frontperson.
“Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band," he said. "They’ve been around a long time and they’re still going for it. It’s going to be tough without Chester [Bennington], but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”
When asked for more information by host Mike Z, Gordon walked back his comments, saying, “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”
While it's exciting to think about the possibility of a Linkin Park return, the band has yet to issue any statement about Gordon's comment.
However, Gordon himself has since tried to clear things up on Facebook, admitting, "I know nothing about any of that. People sure do love to take my words out of context."
