5 Seconds of Summer are bringing a little warmth to winter with the release of “Old Me,” the latest single from their forthcoming album Calm.
Frontman Luke Hemmings said, in a release, that the song “carries a youthful spirit and follows the narrative of a young person’s life growing up, for better or for worse.”
“Old Me” is also a personally reflective song. The lyric video features throwback pics of Hemmings and bandmates Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin.
“Every decision we made, whether right or wrong, has led us to the men we are proud to be today,” said Hemmings. “We were thrown into the public eye at a young age and gratefully had each other at a confusing time. Sometimes it’s important we look back in order to appreciate the journey we’ve been on together.”
Calm, the band’s fourth album, comes out March 27. 5 Seconds of Summer will hit the road in August, coming to Canada for only one show – at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on Aug. 23.
