Adam Lambert gifted fans on Monday with a recording of his version of the 1998 Cher hit “Believe.”
The singer bought new emotion to the dance-pop song in December 2018 when he performed it as a ballad at the Kennedy Center Honors. Cher later tweeted: “Tried 2 write Feelings About Adam Lambert Singing Believe In Words, but Cant seem 2. When Your senses are Overwhelmed All [you] Can … feel [is] with your [heart].”
Lambert said Monday “a lot of you have mentioned wanting a studio recording” of the cover – “so here’s a little holiday gift from me to you.”
“Believe” was written by Brian Higgins, Stuart McLennen, Paul Barry, Steven Torch, Matthew Gray and Timothy Powell and served as the title track for Cher’s 22nd studio album.
