Canadian band Alexisonfire has released “Familiar Drugs,” its first new song in a decade.
The group also announced plans for a series of four concerts, including one on June 15 at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto. Tickets go on sale Feb. 22 at 10 a.m.
Alexisonfire split up in 2011 but the band’s members have come together in recent years to perform a number of live shows.
The band has not indicated if “Familiar Drugs” – which will also be available on vinyl – is part of a collection of new music or a standalone single. The song is about complacency and not being willing to make important change in life.
Alexisonfire will livestream a performance of the song tonight (Feb. 15) via its Facebook page.
