Canadian reggae-pop band Bedouin Soundclash returned Friday with a new single, “Salt-Water."
Just in time for summer, the track features tropical sounds from Mike Dillon on Marimba while the Preservation Hall Jazz Band play trumpets.
“I was thinking about perception and reality – everyone is getting obsessed with truth and lies these days," said frontman Jay Malinowski, in a release. "Sometimes the only way to tell is the effect. If you’re dying of thirst you might look at a glass of salt water and think it’s going to save you – it looks like the real thing – but it isn’t, it’s snake oil, just like a toxic truth or relationship.
"I might keep drinking it and drinking it, getting thirstier and thirstier and never know why."
After a seven-year break, Bedouin Soundclash has announced they are preparing to drop their next album, +MASS-, early in 2019.
