JUNO-Award winning Canadian rockers Arkells have released a new song today (Apr. 7). Titled “Knocking at the Door”, it’s a passionate rallying cry.
“Got the north star guiding me/ It’s the fire burning inside of me/ No, I don’t need a miracle/ I got something far more powerful,” lead singer and guitarist Max Kerman sings.
The band consists of Kerman, guitarist and vocalist Mike DeAngelis, bass player Nick Dika, drummer Tim Oxford and Anthony Carone on keyboard.
The Hamilton, Ontario natives recently performed at the 2017 JUNO Awards in Ottawa. While they’ve enjoyed massive success in Canada, selling out their cross-Canada tour which they’ve just wrapped, the band is trying to break into the U.S.
“There’s a correlation between the places we’ve been to regularly and the amount of people who show up,” Kerman told Mercury News. “We played Chicago, Philly, New York, Boston a couple times a year, and the crowds there are great. Salt Lake City, not so much; we’ve only been there twice in six years. That ain’t gonna cut it, if we expect anyone to show up in Salt Lake City.”
