Drake chose an interesting venue to debut his new song, “Signs”. The Canadian rapper soundtracked a Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer ’18 menswear show with the tune. Made especially for the Parisian fashion brand, Drake worked with longtime collaborator Noah “40” Shebib on the track.
The collab was announced yesterday (June 21) in an Instagram post. “We are very proud to announce that Drake @champagnepapi will be premiering a brand new song inspired by our #louisvuitton #pfwSS18 collection. Hear it first at 2:30pm Paris time tomorrow on www.louisvuitton.com.”
“Signs” is very much in line with what Drake and 40 have done in the past, including a thumping beat reminiscent of Dancehall. “Champagne with purpose while I'm yawning/ You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning/ Lord forgive me, I can't take things slowly, no/ I'm goin' on them once I get going,” the Champagne Papi sings.
