Canadian pop duo Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine (ExJ) have shared their take on fellow Canadian artist JP Saxe’s hit “If The World Was Ending” ft. Julia Michaels.
“Covering ‘If The World Was Ending’ was definitely a sign of the times,” said ExJ, in a release. “The whole world is going through something really difficult and for us at least, it's making us reflect on what we really want, people we really care about.”
In a tweet, they said they posted their cover on TikTok before the COVID-19 lockdown. "It’s crazy to think that months later this would mean much more."
Fine's vocal talents are showcased on the track and backed by Woods on piano.
Released last October, “If The World Was Ending” was penned by Saxe – a Toronto native based in L.A. – and Michaels and produced by FINNEAS.
ExJ, best known for tracks like “Ain’t Easy,” “Better Off” and "Want You Back" described it as “such a beautifully written song that talks about that vulnerable feeling of still caring about somebody you can't have anymore.”
