Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz has released “Look For The Good,” the title track and first taste of his forthcoming seventh studio album.
The song is about finding hope in challenging times – like during a global pandemic.
“I never imagined a year ago when I wrote this album how timely its message would be,” said Mraz, in a release. “Regardless of a pandemic, people around the globe need constant hope. Period.
“I believe that can be self-generated by seeing good in everything, especially in the midst of tragedy and fear.”
Mraz sings: "We were born to love not hate / We can decide our fate and look for the good in everyone and celebrate all our mistakes."
The 42-year-old singer of “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” explained he has always been an optimist in both life and music. He hopes Look For The Good, out June 19, will inspire others to “look at these dark times and witness the good that human beings are doing for their families and for each other.”
He added: “To look for the good is to practice gratitude. For me, I am grateful for the technologies that allow me to record and share my musical thoughts and grateful to the ears and hearts that feel them.”
The album, Mraz’s first since 2018’s Know, was recorded at his home studio with Michael Goldwasser, who co-wrote the title track with Mraz and Raining Jane, Abby Dorsey (MC Flow), and Jeff Berkley.
