Canada’s JP Saxe and his girlfriend, singer-songwriter Julia Michaels, are warming up winter with their new duet, “Kissin’ In The Cold.”
The singers trade verses but combine their voices for the chorus.
“Time goes by and lovers turn to strangers / people stop believing / but there’s one thing that I know / we’ll still be kissin’ in the cold,” they sing. “Time goes by and dreams get left for later / I can’t stop the seasons / but there’s one thing that I know / We’ll still be kissin’ in the cold.”
The track comes just days after the couple’s ballad “If The World Was Ending” was nominated as Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
In June, Saxe spoke to iHeartRadio.ca about the success of the song. “We didn’t anticipate the relevance the song was going to have," he said. "We wrote it before we knew anything about COVID-19. The world changed.
"To see a song that is as rooted in my experience as any other song I’ve ever written be the thing that's connecting with other people around the world, and then connect me to those other people around the world, is really special.
