Justin Bieber’s summer hit with Major Lazer, “Cold Water,” is getting new life this week thanks to a remix timed for the Hindu festival of light.

Released on Oct. 28, the Diwali remix comes from Anirudh Ravichander, who describes himself as the youngest composer/singer working in the Indian film industry.

The distinctive vocals of Bieber and MØ are enhanced by traditional Indian instruments and strings.

A lyric video for the track was viewed more than 750,000 in its first 72 hours online.

Ravichander took to Twitter to express his gratitude.

“You guys have left me speechless and the country proud with your response,” he declared.

“Cold Water” — which boasts Ed Sheeran among its co-writers — was a smash hit for Major Lazer. It topped the charts around the world, including Canada.

Diwali was celebrated on Sunday.
