Pop star Kylie Minogue is back – and she wants to go out dancing.
On Thursday, the Australian singer released “Dancing,” the first single off her forthcoming album Golden, which drops April 6.
It’s Minogue’s 14th studio album and her first non-Christmas release since 2014’s Kiss Me Once.
“Can’t stand still / Won’t slow down / When I go out, I want to go out dancing,” Minogue sings on the country-tinged track.
In an audio clip shared on Instagram, Minogue explained: “Lyrically, ‘Dancing’ is really interesting. I guess on the surface it is about dancing and going out and having a good time, and then it’s also about going out at the end and having had a good time. So, living life to the fullest, trying to shine whenever you can.
“I know life’s difficult, life presents all sorts of hurdles for us but we try to dance through that when we can.”
The 49-year-old star added: “I promised my fans that I would be putting my heart and soul into this record and I stayed true to my word. I was able to do that, which was challenging, and fun, and rewarding.
“It’s ended up with a different direction for sure, but essentially I’d still say it’s very much a Kylie record.”
